One thing I have noticed about MPs is that if they have an armed forces background they are usually a disaster.

Measured against what criteria or standard?

Seems like a massive generalisation, totally lacking any qualification or supporting evidence from constituents or other source.

I imagine that the ubiquitious get-out - 'usually' - allows ex-signaller Ruth Davidson, Scottish Conservative Leader, be excluded from those described as a disaster.

Arthur Wellesley nemesis of the French to PM.

I think I was talking bollocks in my initial statement. Not the first time.

Wonderful the dry humour and self-deprecating style of response.

Ha ha. Made me chuckle, Johnny. It doesn't take members on here long to put one right if they disagree with a particular contribution.

Col. Paul Warfield Tibbets Jr. (23 February 1915 – 1 November 2007)
He retired from the United States Air Force (USAF) on 31 August 1966 with the rank of Brigadier General (promotion received 1959).

Interestingly, his grandson (also a Brig. Gen.) is the current vice-commander of the USAF's Global Strike Command!

I guess that "nukes are the family business"!

Or, to put it "pleasantly" - they deliver "buckets of instant sunshine"!

Thank you for that.
Yes Paul dropped Little Boy on Hiroshima but how many people, without googling it, could tell you who dropped Fat Man on Nagasaki? very few I would say.

It's just like most people would be hard pressed to name the second man on the moon. Being second sucks!

I don't believe that anyone has ever gone to the moon. It's too far away.

Well there you have it. How could a man with such anger management issues drive a space rocket all the way to the moon?

Well the man called him a coward and a liar. If one calls a former astronaut and USAF test pilot a coward, one is owed a fist Popsicle.

I've watched those videos to see what it was about and if there was anything to their astounding claims and there are a few points that make you wonder, such as the astronauts are sat mere feet above a rocket motor as they descend to the surface and they're able to provide commentary? and the tape recording NASA released of that commentary bears no noise of this motor?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BvbD-1qZtc

The 'bowl' shaped lander pads: the rocket that cushioned the landers landing must have blown the dusty moons surface 'seven ways til Sunday' as it touched down, whereupon the dust will have slowly settled in the weak gravity, yet these pads are spotlessly clean of any dust whatsoever.

http://www.lpi.usra.edu/resources/ap...11/40/5926.jpg

So there are things that do make you wonder!

But in the years since other countries than the US (India, China, etc) have orbiters photographing moon and that includes the landing sites showing the eqiupment that was left behind along with the tracks from the astronauts, the lunar rover, etc.
