one name which hasn't been mentioned in this context/thread yet is Hermann Künne, a torpedo specialist rating belonging to the crew of the German Imperial Navy's torpedo boat "S 53" who reportedly fell on April 23, 1918, at Zeebrügge in hand-to-hand combat with a British officer and was honoured by having the Kriegsmarine destroyer "Z 19 HERMANN KÜNNE" named after him.
