Cool The Battle of Abu Klea

This 1885 battle demonstrates the British Army's use of the SQUARE when the attacking force outnumbers the "defenders"ie the British Army

Default Re: THE BATTLE OF ABU KLEA

This battle- I have used a model of how the British Army normally fought large numbers of native belligerants. At Maiwand in Afghanistan the GOC., Burrows abandoned the square; and fought in column abreast thus opening his flanks and a massaccre ensued.
