We're working overtime here at the AMF shipyard -- under the influence of influence as COMSUBPAC stopped by for a visit earlier. Re-painting according to the latest guidelines proceeds faster than I thought. Measure 32/3SS-B, the "light gray" paint job it is! About half way done now.

When I saw the second pic with the Pink in it, I thought you had gone for Operation Petticoat!.

I wonder if the film makers had ever heard of 'Mountbatten Pink'!.

We are finally out from under the evil eye of COMSUBPAC, and Tang has returned to her berth at the yard ready for patrol and freshly done up in Measure 32/9SS as per the latest naval directives. (This particular pattern started to replace the dull black in early 1943 and had a couple of variations. I've never been much of a fan of the "scientific" effort put in to developing camo patterns, particularly the really garish ones for surface ships which were wonderful right up until the Stukas or Vals were dropping in on you, but according to the submariners themselves, this particular pattern made submarines very difficult to make out in low-light conditions and submarines needed every advantage they could get as they closed in on shores of the Japanese home islands where ASW efforts were rather intense.)

So baby is back on the shelf, where she should be, and I plan a long break from anything even remotely related to model crafting for awhile!

Very little to do with modelling, in fact damn all to do with it, but just an example of peculiar places a cat will find comfortable...........on a table in the lounge I have a Lego Train layout...........................and a cat!

Nothing gets done around here without cats lounging around acting like they couldn't be more bored -- yet, there they are. Glad to put the good ol' Tang in the case and on the desk, now I can focus on cleaning up this hovel.

If your Cat is anything like ours you will be carefully supervised and interrupted at regular intervals , as is their want , to ensure that whilst gainfully employed you do not ignore their needs as and when the mood takes them

Never mind Don wouldn't be without them would we .....now is the time to consider your next project to accompany the "Tinned Fish" you recently built
....perhaps a " Catamaran "
