Default About the Names of the Littorio/Veneto Class Battleships

Were the last battleships to be built by the Regina Marina called the Littorio class or the Veneto class?What was the original name of the class.the RM designated?

Caspar:

The last class was known as the Littorio class and consisted of Littorio (later renamed Italia), Vittorio Veneto and Roma. A fourth ship, Impero, was started but never completed.

By the way, I heard there were some controversies regarding whether to call them the Vittrio Veneto class or the Littorio class, was it true?

Traditionally warship classes take the name of the lead (first) ship - as Littorio and Vittorio Veneto were actually laid down on the same day in 1934, some sources have referred to the class as the Vittorio Veneto Class, but the most common usage seems to be the Littorio Class.
