Default Navy News Archives available online

Not a book, but the nearest section that I can find for this topic.
I always looked forward to reading each month's edition of the Navy News when in the Royal Navy. After leaving, I bought it for several years. There is an Electronic Edition, which goes back to June 1954, which can currently be perused for free online at the Navy News website here
Not all copies for every month of every year are available, but there is a fair smattering of available months for viewing.
I got carried away delving through various copies there and found lots of information that I had forgotten about, including the fact that Portsmouth Command of the Royal Navy had to wait until May 7th 1965 to be given the Freedom of the City of Portsmouth - 200 years to the day that HMS Victory was launched at Chatham.
Also, an Advert for weekend coach services from 1968. I did the pay weekend journey to Sunderland a few times for 80/- and still had a couple of miles to walk at 2am, when dropped off at Sunderland.

It wasn't until I was newly married and temporary living with in-laws at Northampton, that I was able to use weekend coaches. For reasons best known to coach operators they never covered East Anglia! No idea why
