Default Alert

Latest project Paper and Card model of the Cutter HMS ALERT. This is the 'delux' version where every thing is laser cut. I've done a few card models before but I find these days my fingers don't like the constant gripping the exacto knife.
This is about 60 hrs work so far. Brass Canon,Swivel guns and Belaying pins are supplied along with fabric sails, rigging thread (various) dowel for masts. I think the quality is excellent (even the gratings are cut out). Price 114, but for size and detail I think it compares well with similar wooden ones. So far I've found this one relatively easy, with the occasional ' fiddly' bits. Rigging might be a bit more of a challenge, the blocks and deadeyes are in three pieces!. Produced in Poland but available in UK and on the Internet. There are several more in the range.

The quality of this build is exceptional and to read it has been done in card I'm in awe

Thanks for your comment, but it is a relatively easy kit, being Laser cut. Although there are 3 layers of planking.

Hows the build going Jim ....any updates please

Kev , all my scale model superstructures are built of card [ a term used to describe plastic sheet and sold in sheets A4 in size and varying thicknesses along with many profiles which enable the modeller to create the desired artefact which is then painted to complete the project [sorry if telling you how to suck eggs ]
