Default Coastal naval vessels Radar WWII

Hi, Can anyone please tell me what is the aerofoil bulb on top of the cabin on some Air Sea Rescue vessels, is it some form of radar?
Thanks

Whilst I have no knowledge of the contents, the radome looks identical to the streamlined fairing around a D/F (direction finding) loop on many contemporary aircraft.
