Default Gibraltar Records

My father served with the Merchant Marine 1939-1945.
The ships he was assigned to were the Hampton Lodge 132608 and he Empire Razorbill 167622.
His ship, Hampton Lodge was sunk on January 23,1943 and he was stationed in Gibraltor until assigned to Empire Razorbill September 11, 1944.
I am looking for records of his Gibraltar assignment. He may have trained in underwater demolition with Lionel Buster Crabb. My father never talked much about the war, but he did mention this fact. I have his record book and dates of engagement and discharge. He was born in Newfoundland before 1949, so I imagine he would be a british subject at that time.

Hello tchafe and a very warm welcome to the Forums. Looking forward to seeing anything further that you can add about your fathers service, especially regarding his training in underwater demolition.

Jim

Hi Jim,

Thank you for the welcome. I am privileged to be here.

I just ordered my dad's records from the National Archives, UK. Will let you know if I find anything out.

Terry
