I can recall visiting HMS Cavalier at Brighton Marina, but I don't think they wanted her and she ended up at Hebburn, before a home was found for her at Chatham. So scrapping ships on Brighton beach...

Pretty sure we had a plumber on the Ark Royal 1964. Unlike Artificers, they wore a branch badge on their lapels in the form of crossed axes.

I think she may have been a Chief Petty Officer Wren rather than Fleet Chief Petty Officer Wren. I think the Fleet Chief rank came into effect in the early 1970's.

I think it says ORONTES (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Orontes_(1862)), which was a troop transport, so he was probably embarked for transporting to wherever Rifleman was located when he joined...
