Sorry Herk, I just realised that you had asked her. I quickly read it and moved it before people started posting. Then I had to tidy up.

Sailor

I agree with you about A Bridge Too Far... especially the evocative soundtrack and the "white flag" incident at Arnheim Bridge featuring Antony Hopkins.
I have just noticed.... I have been promoted... this calls for drink.... noticing the time here in the UK.... I guess it has to be a night cap.... ;)

I think they call it an 'eclectic' music taste!

Barry Manilow came first, back in 1978... then along came Rock and I was hooked, but there is always a soft spot for Barry.

Evening, morning and G'day to everyone ...

Looks like I will have to add more to my list of favourites as my list is starting to look a little puny (is that how you spell it) compared to all yours...

Will have to think about some more later as my little "grey cells" seem to have gone out for the evening. That is more then I am doing on this Valentine's evening.... :( I have no life ....before any chimes up with that line !!

I fear that anything I add here will not be enlightening.

My favourites are so dependent on my current state, especially with music. One day I can't get enough Mozart, another time Brahms etc.

I don't really like films all that much. They always seem too trivial to me. I prefer the book instead. Some of those mentioned above were good.

I quite dislike TV though sometimes a documentary will hold my attention. I've just finished watching a 3 part on John Curtin that was good. (John Who??)

Sport: cricket of course and the real footy - Australian Rules.

Most admired: not too many. Nelson, Wellington, Bill Slim, John Curtin.

Interests: books, books and books. Writing. Music.

There you go. I warned you it would be tediously boring.

John

Yes dinner guests is a good one, I have often thought about that as the combinatios are many....
How about John and Robert Kennedy plus Marilyn Monroe to discuss (1) did you have , how shall we say, a more than platonic relationship (b) Marilyn did you commit suicide or did these other guests have a had in your demise.
Another guest might be the commanding officer of US Airforce base in Roswell New Mexico and the question would be .... what really went on in 1948 ?

As amatter of interest I have been to the UFO Museum in Roswell, it's the strangest museum I have ever been in ...... no genuine artifacts !

Starting to ramble now....... just the way my mind works !
