Your post suggests you are interested in info on your father rather than the ship. However, here are a couple of pictures in case you are interested.

the first shows the sloops Modeste and Nereide just after their joint launch in 1944.

Here is something else you may find interesting as it seems the Nereide was with HMS Vanguard, at least part of the time, on the Royal Tour of South Africa in 1947.
