My Father who died on 13th November 2010 will have his ashes committed to the sea on 9th February 2011 at Portsmouth by Royal Naval tender.
The photographs of him & his ship mates during & after WWII are a living memory to the courage & sacrifice they gave for their country. He stayed in the Royal Navy until the end of 1949 as he loved being on the small coastal craft of MTBs, MGBs & MLs during this time his journey took him across the Med, Scandinavia, Africa & across British coastal waters.

God Bless the memory of your father and the service he did his country in wartime.
And I hope you have good weather for the scattering of the ashes as February isn't always a friendly month to be sailing out to sea in a small tender, even in the shelter of the Solent.
Also, please do post one of the photos you have of him in uniform on the Forum.

It's always a sad occassion when someone near & dear dies. It is good to remember how much we owe to his generation . May all go well at the commital to the sea.
