I'm looking for one of those metal hat tins that were issued during (after??) the war. If anybody knows where I can get one at a reasonable price please let me know. I keep checking ebay but no luck so far. Thanks

Expensive I think but was certainly advertised on ebay.

I didn't see that one. There was one recently for under 100 pounds but with shipping it was well over 150. A little too rich for me.

I'm almost embarrased to admit it, but I threw a hat tin in the garbage a couple years back. My dad served in the RCNVR during WW11 and brought his hat tin home with him after the war. It sat in his basement for decades, dusty and dented, and was mainly used to store junk.

After Dad's death I was cleaning out his basement and tossed the old can out along with some other things that were no longer useful.

Who'd have ever thought it would actually be worth any money today ? :eek:
