Hello, Old Naval Guard with a question. Does any one make a model of the Peacock class Patrol boat. They use to be used by the Royal Navy in Hong kong before the British left there. I would be intrested in both a static or RC model. Also does anyone have any pics of them in RN service most now are in Irish or Philpines service colours. Also why were they sold off? They seemed like great little ships or did they have no place in UK home waters? Thanks in Advance cheers ONG

ONG,
in answer to your question, I have not heard of any manufacturer producing a kit of the Peacock class patrol boat.
However, looking at the vessel in your image, the hull of a Tribal Class Frigate would be pretty close to the shape. Deans Marine supply kits for these but you may be able to get just the moulded hull from them at 1:96 scale. This hull is just over 46" long with a beam of 5 1/2". I feel that the hull is the most important item, and the upper deck and superstructure can be added by scratchbuilding them from plans (if available). Then the overall model would become either 1:72 scale or even 1:48 scale.
You may have to chop a couple of inches off the stern, but as both have transom sterns there is no problem there.
I shall search the internet for plans.;)
Meanwhile, an image of a Tribal (lower), and by continuing the line of he foc'sle deck to the upper deck, you have your Peacock hull shape.:)
