I thought that but why would he go there as a stoker and was it there in the early 1900

Can you cut the relevant text and scan it quite large ? It might help decipher it.

Rix tried tthat but it made it worse even tried it as it is and enlarged it on this site and with magnifying glass,even got the old handwriting books out but still drew a blank but thanks for all the advice ROM:(

I can't see any reason why he shouldn't be attached there, after all stokers were used for many other jobs other than engine rooms and boiler rooms.

Good luck with your research.

Whoever filled in his service documents would have made a good doctor!
