Found last week in Hazelmere, Surrey whilst staying at my Daughters. A book called:- The Royal Navy.. An Illustrated Social History 1870-1982.
It was by Captain John Wells with a foreword by our Tims Dad... Lord Lewin of Greenwich. And published in 1984.
It consists of very interesting anecdotes and true stories by men who served in those days..From both the upper deck and the lower deck personel.
I have reached in the book the time and the changes made by Lord Fisher at present... so far a very interesting read. Surprising how little difference there was in those days gone by to those of my day.
Cheers, Stan
