Hello All.

Just a quick introduction.
As someone with a great interest in military history and in particular naval history, combined with being a keen collector of ship and naval postcards, I have used the excellent "Battleships and Cruisers" for reference over many years. Today for the first time I noticed a link to your new Naval History Forum.
I very much liked what I saw and have therefore joined! I look forward to interacting with you over the forthcoming years...

Best wishes from

Thank you for those kind words Ernest - much appreciated. I have some friends who like myself collect naval postcards and ephemera. I will contact them and see if they either have or at the very least keep their eyes open for the HMS Vanguard booklet you seek. I feel sure that one will eventually turn up as I expect a considerable number were originally printed. What a fine ship she was. I can`t help but feel sad at her premataure end in 1960. Despite the high running costs and manning levels I strongly believe her life span should have been at least 15-20+ years longer and then should have been eventually preserved as a museum as the best and the last British Battleship.
HMS Belfast has become a popular success as a floating museum - imagine what figures the Vanguard would attract today...
