Hi everyone.

Just to let you know that we have updated the US Navy section (on battleships-cruisers.co.uk) - it is uploading as I type this. We have added 200 hundred new photos, with probably 80% of these being ships we had no photos of before. Almost all are in the post war period, most 50s - 80s destroyers, minesweepers and auxiliaries. All are available to purchase, and this site (worldnavalships.com) will be similarly updated tomorrow. Here are a few samples.

Hi KC,

I am the grandson of one of the crews of USS Delaware BB-28. Since childhood, my mother have been telling us that his father was in the US Navy and was on USS Delaware. Now that I am 44 years old and my mother is 86, she told me again that his father was in the US Navy in 1910 to 1916. There was no any record this, because my mother was only 9 years old when her father died. That's the only recollection my mother has got.

To verify this, I checked with the DOD and the National Archives and indeed there are records for my grandfather's service in the US Navy. The National Archives sent me a copy (24 pages) of his service records. It included his finger prints, social security number, times when he has on USS Delaware and other stuff.

He volunteered to join the US Navy on January 19, 1910 in Olongapo City, in the Philippines. He was only 18 years old then.

This is the first time we knew of his life in the US Navy.

I would like to know if you have any photos of the crew from 1910 to 1916.

Please let me know. My email address is lagsam@rothgerber.com (LAGSAM@ROTHGERBER.COM).

Thank you.
