Old Naval Guard...............ex-HMS UGANDA I believe?
The answer is not that ship, but I did try her sister in which I served (HMS CEYLON).............

Airfix used to produce 1/600 scale, so using the hull, and much of the fittings from their HMS TIGER, which although much more modern, the hull was exactly the same, 555ft, and many of the fittings such as 6" turrets and 4" mountings from the HMS BELFAST kit, I attempted a conversion.
Unfortunately it all proved beyond my modest abilities, but I still think it feasible, so should the kits be available anywhere might be worth a crack at it but in your case making her QUEBEC instead. Twenty years on, my eyesight would not let me do it these days sad to say.

Thanks I love this class of ship.Yes you are right she is the former HMS Uganda,HMCS Quebec. So is HMS Belfast of the same class then ? I always thought the Belfast was slightly larger. So you served on her sister ship:cool:. Care to share what it was like a board her? I always thought that Canada made a mistake when we caught rid of them in the end of the 1950s. They would have made great command and control ships for our Navy. HMS LION and Tiger come to mind as Modernized Cruisers that soliderd on in to the 1960s and in Tiger case the 1970s to early 80s if I am not mistaken. Oh well :rolleyes:Thanks for the advice

Old Naval Guard...............No, BELFAST not same class, but has exactly the same 6" turrets, 4" mountings and 40mm mountings as we did (and QUEBEC), so parts from BELFAST kit would be ok for QUEBEC.
TIGER class, whilst newer and totally different basically, still had exactly the same hull as the earlier ships, and any minor differences wouldn't be noticable at 1/600 scale.
My old lady, just showed the long-life these ships could manage if allowed.........built in 1943, sold to Peru 1960.......not decommissioned until 1983.

If you transplanted the belfast superstructure guns and fittings onto the tiger hull it's give you a result that was pretty similar to the Uganda/Quebec
