Dear All

My father and grandfather were in the Royal Navy (HMS Keppel, SUb Lt Charles Stewart Jordan; HMS Hermione, Chief Stoker William Jordan ) but my reason for writing now is to put out feelers for witnesses to Churchill's crossing to Normandy on board the destroyer HMS Kelvin on June 12 1944.
I have a few names off the net: Clifford HIbbert, Harry Cunningham '(who has some photographs of the crew and of Churchill, but I do not know how to contact him or any of the others cited), William Leonard Kilby, Arthur Conry, ....
Any crew members of families of the same, who have eyewitness accounts or photos are invited to contact me for a book project (Pitkin Books) and anything used would be fully acknowledged of course.
HMS Scourge followed as an escort; the Monitor HMS ROberts fired salvoes off Arromanches for display to Churchill in Admiral Vian's launch. HMS Scylla hove to to allow Admiral Vian to take his launch over to the Kelvin...ANy crew members on these ships who recall that day also very welcome..

best regards

William Jordan
