Help with Date and Rate Please.

Dear Sirs, can any of the forum members shed some light as to the date of this photograph and what rate these young lads were? Is this a training ship?

Hi Andrew, cant be specific, but would have thought photo taken in the period post ww1, no trade or rates badges shown, suspect the little lad could have been a boy bugler with the Royal Marines.

They appear to be well turned in particular the naval lad with the seven creases in his bell bottoms.

Im sure someone with a greater knowledge will be able to give your further information.
