Looking for photographs of RN ship wearing the non-standard pennant numbers adopted for units allocated to the Pacific in 1945 I came across a picture of a destroyer identified as HMS CAVENDISH (D15- see R15). Please see the photograph on web page - http://www.battleships-cruisers.co.uk/c_class.htm (Battleships-Cruisers.co.uk).
This ship is actually HMAS NIZAM (G38) ‘N’ Class destroyer wearing the non-standard pennant number D15. Another photographic example of these hard to find pennant numbers in operational use.
Perhaps when time allows this photograph can be deleted from the 'C' Class folder and inserted in the 'N' Class folder.
