Would anyone happen to have a full list of Allied vessels that took part in the evacuation from Dunkirk?

Perhaps someone happens to have the book 'The Evacuation from Dunkirk, Operation Dynamo 26 May-4 June 1940' (Whitehall History Publishing) Which I believe it contains a comprehensive list of all vessels.

I have books and copies of Admiralty documents showing minor vessels but many seem to be missing, such as HMT Clythness for example.

I can recommend "BEF Ships before ,at and after Dunkirk" by John de S.Winser. Published by the World Ship Society and still available I believe.
Forty pages listing the ships and their involvement.
Quote for CLYTHNESS "Ferried troops at Dunkirk May 30; assisted with the rescue of King Orry`s survivors then returned the same day with troops."

Hi Nick. The Isle of Man Steam Packet company had several ships involved.I believe as mentioned King Orry + Mona's Isle,Snaefell, Tynwald,Ben-My-Cree. I think thats all of them but I may be wrong. Those not called up for Emergency service were at the time busy importing Foreign National interned for the Duration. The IOM being singled out for this purpose.

Imagine my surprise, when going quickly through a pile of German magazines(Picked up at a boot fair)I came across this picture from Operation Dynamo! It shows the landing of evacuated British troops at an undisclosed Southern Port. The Vessels are obviously Destroyers, but are not named. Can anyone hazard a guess, which they might be?
It came as a total surprise,as most of the "Bumph" In the mags is about German ships and submarines. From my limited German,I gather that this was used as a propaganda photo.

With reference to the above post. One thing I have just noticed on looking at this photo closely. The chap, first on the right wearing a strange looking forage cap,is carrying what appears to be an American 1942 style tin hat!!!!?? Any one got any clues to his nationality and this type of helmet? At first I thought he was an RAF type, but on second glance seems to be a foreign soldier, but I don't think French?

Hi All, several years ago the date I cant remember, I was serving with the RNXS (Royal Naval Aux Service) we escorted a little ship owned by a fellow member from the Exe Estury to Pool for a reunion of little ships. Managed to get a couple of photos whilst at sea, hope you find them interesting.
The owner of this vessel was trying to sell her, dont know what the outcome was or if she is still about, perhaps somebody might know.

You may already have seen it, but. The BBC News Website, on the England page has a picture of MTB 102 leaving Ramsgate today.

Hi Steve! Re your post 6.Well spotted! I have seen pictures of some British soldiers wearing forage caps in I guess regimental colours. For example Royal Artillery I believe wear/wore forage caps with a red crown and blue side flaps or something like that. The soldier in question appears to be wearing a Brit. pattern pack but he does appear to have something like a US M1 pattern helmet with a US style cammo net. Seems strange as the Yanks didn't introduce them until mid to late 1942.Perhaps its a French Hadrian style helmet seen from a strange angle.Of course it may not be a helmet at all.Maybe he's saving the Regimental football in a string bag.War is one thing but Adolph is not going to get it!
Cheers John O'C.
P.S. Steve I've had another look and I believe it's a standard Brit. helmet it's really just the angle and the net that makes it look odd.

I have a post entitled "11th minesweeper flotilla-a contention"; since having seen this thread I bought "BEF ships before,at and after Dunkirk"-contention
over -this unit arrived 5th June 40-JUST after Dynamo closed-I had wrongly argued, on other evidence, that the ships were there during the evacuations as back up.
