I recently received the model kit "1/72 H.M.C.S. Snowberry - SKU: RVLS5061" as a Christmas gift.

My Father served on the Flower Class Corvette "H.M.S. Monkshood" during WWII as XO. I would like to make this model a replica of her as much as possible. I understand one of the big things is color schemes - not all being the same. I am hopeful someone can provide me with this information and any other details which may make this model more like Monkshood rather than Snowberry. Pictures, drawings etc. would all be useful if available. If you are unable to assist me, would you suggest other sources where I may find this information?

Hi Mac,

The Snowberry is probably the most built corvette because of it's adaptability for radio control. Mine has been running for years. The Flower class corvettes were constantly being modified and structure changed during their lifetime so you will need to know whether she was short forecastle [which she was] and what weapon and radar outfits she sported.

Go to Google punch in HMS MONKSHOOD and that will take you to her - there are several threads there to gain info from including her full service history.

Hope this helps and if you need anything else come back to me on PM , I have been involved in the building of many of the Snowberrys.
