Hello
I have recently found this forum and as an ex RN Mech Engineer I have found it interesting to see the interest in the Naval history and ships that i have seved on or just know about. Ijoined the Rn in 1961 as a boy entry at HMS Ganges then went to Raleigh for further training. Sea training on HMS Virago for the SSMEs course then to Wizard another type 15 as ships company.After 2 commissions on the Ark Royal (finishing as POME) and a marriage (with a couple of years in Chatham FMU) I did the Mech's course at Sultan and opted for submarines with a tour on both Resolution and Repulse ending up as a Mech1 and leaving the RN in 1978.
Susequently, I went into facillities management/construction doing 4 years in \jordan and Saudi, before working in Uk mostly for a company PMe before retiring at 59 as an operations director. Now live in Spain, gardening and stuff.
