Searching for a friend

My backdoor neighbor of 85 years of age is looking for a friend who served on HMBYMS #2157 (His Majesty's British Yacht Mine Sweeper #2157) during WWII. The gentleman's name is John Russell Trow and he would be about 90 years old now. If anyone has any info, I would appreciate hearing back.

I dont have any pics of 2157, but assume she was the same as BYMS 2148

Might take some detective work, perhaps a search of the electoral roll could help or check around at some aged care organizations, if a last known address is possible maybe a neighbour could help or someone else in the street can remember, my friend was a debt collector & part of of his routine was to ask people living in the street about the person & where they moved to if not living there anymore, most times it was successful, amazing what people know :eek:
