Hi, welcome to the forum. :)

We always welcome any naval photos on the site, and we would love to host your collection on the site. You are welcome to post them on the forum if you wish, or you could email them to me (site admin) at images@battleships-cruisers.co.uk and I can put them on for you. I would also create a page for HMS Sea Wolf on the non-forum part of the site, featuring the photos permanently. Of course, if you just wanted to email them to individuals you are welcome to do that also.

I came across this site by accident. I know this is a little before 1943 but my Uncle Lt P D L Field was first officer of the Seawolf in the 1940`s and at 6`4" must have spent quite a lot more time `ducking`than most. He joined the service in 1932 and joined L 26 and by `34 was on Oswald in Singapore.
While at Wei Hei Wei he and a Lt Luce were captured by Chinese pirates and removed from on board a steamer going to mainland China. After several days of Gunboat Diplomacy they were found and released unharmed. He then went on to Snapper in `35 and back to the L26 as an instructor in`39 and then the Seawolf. He was posted to HMS Medway as staff in Dec. 1941 but sadly his aircraft with about 6 others onboard crashed in the sea off Corunna in Spain before reaching Gibraltar...no survivors. I have never been able to find out reasons for the crash, whether enemy action or mechanical failure.
And as for Lt Luce.......he went on to become a First Sea Lord.
