View Full Version : First & Last
I thought it may be interesting to show pictures of the first & last ships we served on. I've cheated a bit because my last sea going trip was in the MN. However lets give it a go & see what turns up.

Just downloaded both of them with no problem at all Rik.
If you remember I had a similar problem a few months ago.
Still dont know what it was but I "cured" it by shutting the computer down
and then restarted it - and all was fine !!
Jonti - A great picture of Diamond BTW. Many thanks .:)

On the same basis as the Biggest and Smallest....
HMS Dartington "LTD" "OXP" draft. Got lost, spent more time in a Shack than onboard. That's 1966. Otherwise, HMS Daring '66-'68.
Last; HMS Boxer '86-'88. Or does Drake for two years count until discharge.

Sorry, Bob. That's the only size I've got her at, on my computer. I can't remember where I got that pic from. I've searched Google images and I can't see it on there. I'll certainly bear you in mind if I come across it again.

1963 Undaunted & 1970 Keppel.
In the Charlie Drake film "The Petticoat Pirates" as he escapes on a type 14 the 2nd Frigate Squadron chase them and peel off in turn. first is F53 undaunted and the last F85 Keppel. Strange coincidence???????
Whalerman......was onboard KEPPEL when they filmed "Petticoat Pirates"......the harbour shots were KEPPEL, but most of the sea shots I think were GRAFTON or MURRAY.
Right at the start of the film where the crew all go ashore, we got £5 each for that scene, if memory serves.
scurs,
When you were on the Chichester, had they done any alterations?
Like we still had a twin 40/60 down aft , and a double bedstead.
Didn't you get any pics of her ?
Cylla
Cylla.............nope! Didn't take any photos - sorry! However she hadn't been altered and was identical to your time...........complete with Twin Mk.5 Bofor and Double Bedstead radar. Wasn't long after you anyway, I joined her in Pompey, September 1967.
