I have in my possession the commission book, with everyone's names and stories, of the commission Dec 01 1954 through to 01 June 1956. If there is anyone out there who would like a p/copy of this slice of history let me know and I'll run one off. Hope not everyone will ask. In the back of the book was this rather good picture of the flotilla in line abreast, a p/copy but not bad for its age!

Hi Tim
Have you thought about making a PDF file of the book. You will see some examples of other Commissiioning Books on Dave Axfords site here:

to be honest the though had not occurred; I will do it and post it as soon as time allows. Thanks for that. I also had Corunna's Captain's Sea Orders book (as well as those for Urchin and Hermes) but gave them to the Maritime Museum to join the collection of my father's effects and papers. They are accessible to anyone to look, there is also the set of 3 volumes of the Hermes commission photos by the ship's photographic dept.
cheers

here is a decent photo of 4th destroyer flotilla
Great pics, but very poor "dressing by the left" I would say;) Is this before or after the coming together between Corunna and Barrossa. I also notice on enlargement that Barossa has only her crest on the funnel rather than the squadrons number 4 . Any thoughts
