Was It only "The Mess Bill" that were deducted from Jacks pay, or were there others ,,,,,,legal or otherwise

If you were fined by the Captain as a punishment the fine was taken from your pay.
If you lost or damaged a piece of equipment in your charge through your neglegance you could be required to pay for all or a portion of the cost of that equipment. The loss/damage and subsequent action taken was recorded on a form which we all dreaded called Form S126.
Hope that is a little clearer

Form 126 is the form that gets filled in when you have lost/damaged something and you have to pay for it.

Anyone bin on a ship that lost it's seaboat to roughers.

Now that was the time when everything you had missing in the department was in that boat - worked for some but the question was always if the boat had been launched would it have ever floated.:confused:

We thought that we could clear our PLR's when we boarded a burning coatal tanker - and it worked.....BUT....guess what, the MoD took the cost of all that gear we used out of our Salavage Money!! Bar-stewards
