Hello Members,

My Father served on the "Chevreuil" from June 9th 1942 th December 6th 1943.

He was seconded from the Royal Australian Navy as he was trained in the Anti Submarine Detection.....ASDIC ??

My Father's name is Kenneth Vivian Taylor and on his War records it was noted that he was to receive the French Commoraritive Medal for 1939-1945 War.

My Father has since passed on and I was hoping that someone could lead me in the correct direction as to how he may be issued with this Medal.

I am in contact with the French Embassy in Canberra but it is a long, tedious exercise.

Also, I was hoping to hear from anyone that served on the same vessel and possibly knew my Father.......I don't know what type of vessel it was but I know it was small and the work he was designated to do contributed a lot to my Dad's hearing problems.

Thanks in adavance.

David
