Welcome to the forum Trever.
Not much info I'm afraid but you will find some, together with a photo, here...

It also seems she was torpedoed by a U-boat during WW1 but obviously did not sink.
Good luck with your research.

Good evening, Peyk!
Speaking about Mecidiye, do you have information whether she was armed with Russian 130/55 mm. Obukhov plant guns when she served in Turkish Navy after her return?
Best regards, Aleks
Alex!
As you know after her raising the "Prut" (ex-"Mejidieh") was armed with 10 130mm guns. In 1917 the next repair and rearmament was begun and when German captured the cruiser in May 1918 they found her without guns, without masts and with one funnel. She was returned to Turkey and was restored with the original armament.
She was returned to Turkey and was restored with the original armament.
Good evening, Antoine!
Nice to meet you at this forum too :)
The information that Mecidiye was rearmed with 130/55 guns during her repair in 1920s (after serving for some time with 6-inch and 4.7-inch guns when she was returned from Russia) was given in reference book on WW2 cruisers published by Russian EKSMO edition.
This fact seemed a little bit strange to me, as the Turks must have had problems with ammo for 130-mm caliber, so I wanted to clarify it.
Best regards, Aleks
