I am looking for information on HMS Northunberland 1879-1882 and HMS Garnet 1882-1884. my g g uncle served on these ships.
Any help would be appreciated, especially operations in which they served.

SIR I started to traced my relatives some time ago (still a newby) MY gg uncle I suppose, served on Hms Garnet I got a crew list from the1881 british census my relative was a George Dobbs who was a captain/coxswain
He was born in Gosport Hampshire <1846> . I dont know if this will be any help to you...:) thank you pete in oz
