Well, as I am on the ship, I have a new CO. The first female CO of a Canadian major warship.

Congratulations. I think it's a big step forward, particularly in view of the recruiting problems navies are experiencing -everywhere it seems.

We've had a woman chief commissioner of police here in the State of Victoria for five or six years. Christine Nixon. She's just retired after a pretty successful two terms - although she did encounter some entrenched opposition from the Police Association (police officer's union).

Time will tell on this. She doesn't look very happy in the pic in the Trident newspaper.
