Here are some pics of La Melpomene class Torpedo Boats in Free French Navy and Kriegsmarine service. The immages of this class in service outside Vichy Navy are quite scarse and usually of poor quality. Maybe someone else has more. It will be welcomed.
All pics are from books Les Torpilleurs de 600 tW du Type La Melpomene, by Charles Salou and Les Torpilleurs Legeres Francais 1937-1945, by Marc Saibene. It's quite interesting two books were dedicate to such a minor class:)
Pic La Pomone and Bombarde is very interesting because both are wearing forecastle deck marking of red-white recognition stripes characteristic for Italian Navy, probably to avoid German and Italian Aircraft attacks when in Bizerte 1941.
Second one La Flore and La Melpomene when in 1940 still with French flag but yet in British possession and with names removed by censor.
