Gerald Ford was a gunnery officer aboard the USS MONTEREY during WW2.
Not bad, gunnery officer to boss of America!

George W Bush was supposed to have had military experience, of sorts, and look what he did! Is it just me, but I feel 'safer' when there is a Democrat as Pres of the USA. Barack Obama cannot be accused of being 'Gung Ho'!

Remember, George W Bush's "military experience" was faked!

i have no doubt that what any man believes will effect how he acts, and that two men can experience the same thing and respond differently to it because of that , and i share your thought on George bush , and i really made the comment because no one else had made any

Hi Nigel
I guess no one is really interested in Gerald Ford. I don't know now why I ever started this thread!
Regards,
Colin.

Wasn't Gerald Ford the one who was good at tripping up and falling over?

And never stand down range from him when he was golfing.

He tripped, fell, hit more folks with golf balls than any other President we have ever had.

All in all, he wasn't too bad a President.

Gerald Ford was an honest and corageous man, just what the country need after Nixon and Watergate. He sacrificed his own political career for the good of the country by pardoning Nixon. Too bad we didn't realize it was the right thing for him to do until many years later.

Here is a picture of him playing basketball on the USS Monterey. He is on the left, jumping for the ball
