I am, he passed away a good few years ago but I like to keep his memory alive, this is an excellent forum to do this as there are so may like minded people

That is the Arctic star it was only recently awarded to anyone who served on the Russian convoys - veterans had been campaigning for years for a stand alone medal but this is the compromise the government came up with.
Family's can apply for them posthumously, which is what I did. The star can be worn as a lapel badge but the Majority of Vets seem to have mutualy agreed to wear it on the '39 - 45 star or the Atlantic star, although not official it seemed to me to be the best place to display it.
