Hi Chaps

Building a model of Wien at Spithead in 1897--all resplendent in Victorian livery, dressed overall etc

Hoever...

I am trying to find a few images of the Austro Hungarian Battleship SMS Wien( Monarch class) ....

as she was at the Fleet review off spithead in 1897--

I have a fine bow port bow 3/4 view--but would dearly like to find another image of that event.

I have thus far drawn a blank on the net

I have been in touch with Beken of Cowes-who supplied many a fine image of that event to many a fine book-- awaiting...

Wright and Logan--many images of RN ships are for sale via the Museum shop in Portsmouth

But I wonder who has the rights/ selling/archive of all the early and foreign stuff?

any ideas, tel numbers etc

Of course if someone here has an image in their collection....

Hello JIM!

There are two pics of WIEN in

Lothar BAUMGARTNER, Erwin SIECHE,
Die Schiffe der k.(u.) k. Kriegsmarine im Bild
Band 1: 1848-1895
ISBN 3-8132-0594-0,

page 95. The first one shows the ship entering Portsmouth on 14.06.1897, just fired salute. The second one shows it fully dressed at the jubilee itself.
