I am seeking information relating to James Jackson (Leading Stoker 5862K) who served on HMS Malaya in 1919 and formerly on HMS Monarch at the Battle of Jutland. He married my widowed Grandmother Agnes Nicholson in Portsmouth in August 1919. He was aged 30 in 1919 and came from Leeds.

Hi, I'm possibly after some of the same information that you are? As my Great Uncle, William Hirst Walker, who was killed at the Battle Of Jutland,on the HMS Malaysia, .....although I have heard it called the 'Malaya'.... unless there are the two ships that were hit in that battle, that both sounded the same??
regards...

Hi. I am sure you are talking about HMS Malaya as I believe there was no British Ship called HMS Malaysia around at that time or indeed at any time during the 20th century. Hope this helps
