Due to a BHG failure (i.e. brain phhhhart) I forgot I told you that and henceforth went searching for something more in tune with the times....Mr TERMITE! HA Temporarily(??) on...not quite sure how....and I make my living on my other computer...scary!
BTW, I tend to use NATO names for sov/rooshunn ships and subs rather than their project #s or the occassionally disclosed name.
Hmmm, something is trying to become VISIBLE...oh I'm jus soooo nice!!! BWAAHAAHAAAA....:rolleyes::D DFO

Either way-TO BE FAIR like yours truly is-more pics need to be coming...cuzz if itzz a satellite shot even of a CVBG no way can these tired eyes pick it up at that range. Figured out I can't even sight an M-14 at 200M, let alone 300 or 500 that I always had to qualify at! This older age SUXX!
Meanwhile take a peek at ID'inn the spiffy new mystery ship I put up! Sleek............DFO :p:D

Come on, Dennis, you're just not trying hard enough. Don't just roll over now. Peer deeply. What can you see down there, under that oily water, under that good Venezuelan bunker oil leaking to the surface?

Do you think it would only take one torpedo hit to put this fine vessel on the bottom?
No, my friend. This is no mass produced US tub.
But, at least you're using your brain now. i thought for a while you had a lump of wood in there!
designeraccd
28-12-2008, 14:08
probably a water soaked lump of balsa the way things are goinn this a.m. Only other 3 that come to "mind" would be Utah, Arizona or (too deep?) Royal Oak............??? :D DFO
"Mass produced US tub?" I beg urr paaardunnn......LOTSA those "tubs" helped the RN + other countries when the hulls simply weren't there in WW II anf well beyond. And I might NOTE: How many Essex class CVs were used for many DECADES after WW II versus how many RN Fleet carriers.....oh and which type was more able to adopt to fly new, larger planes than had been thought of by say...1940?? HMMMMM??? I won't even mention WW II era BBs, CAs, CLs or DD............hate to RUB salt into the wound, but factz izz factz! tubz indeed...............:p:p:D

Gosh, how many clues do you need?
The Barnacles are clinging to this vessel.
Surely you can play this better?

HMS Bergamot

Barnacles the size of conductors, actually.
You know, I wouldn't mind betting there is a whole bunch of guys watching this thread, drooling to answer this one, and watching you struggle! :D:D:D

If others know...answer up, I'm always interested in LEARNING!
I have no sense of scale or orientation with your pic....soooo I get lost in 3D space.
OTOH I do build/create/design quite complex 3D objects. This pic, for example, is a fifth wheel front end assembly I designed for an RV client who recently unvieled it at the National Annual Louisville RV Show. The wireframe model has a scale grid to help visually reference the model as it is being built. From a completed wire frame one renders the polygon mesh so it looks realistic when rendered, even if all the surfaces are basically very complex 3D arcing shapes. Even better the math model data has a tolerance of +/- .020" and from that math data a life size pattern is CNC milled. A tool is then built up over the finished CNC surfaces to build actual production parts from........ DFO :D

OK one more guess Mr Exxon Valdez...........perhaps the hulk of the Queen Elizabeth, which I believe has now finally been cut away due to leaking tons of oil in to Hong Kong harbor....which I imagine the oh so "green" conscious chicomz wouldn't like.....................DFO :D
HMS Bergamot
29-12-2008, 04:30
Not the RMS Queen Elizabeth, I'm afraid. Wrong harbour.
That 3-d drawing of yours was seriously impressive though. Did it win at the show, or was it not that sort of show?
Scale? Hmm. How about 624' by 88'? That big enough for you?
And, as a class, they were a dish best served cold.:D:D

Well now oh tho UNobservent one....IF u check back to my message of 1508 yesterday: you will find the name ROYAL OAK in there.....to which I recieved a NON answer that set me blindly trawling! I've got a reeetired opthamoligist friend....maybe he could FIX u up with some FUNCTIONING eyeballs? I call a FOUL HERE!
:rolleyes::p:D....and that sumzz it up pretty succinctly! + I've got some barnacules for ya, too! INDEED!.....DFO :D
Attached is the Royal Oak rendering youv'e used-which I had seen b4; also an actual fifth wheel-finished-of the cap design I showed you b4....just an aaaahhhmazzinn similarity! Around here, b4 I came along any resemblance to "sketches" and proper fit to RV "box" was an amazing suprise.

Actually, it was YOU who talked yourself out of Royal Oak. you said it was too deep.
The Barnacle clue related to Bandmaster Barnacle (Google that for an interesting story) of the Royal Oak.
Obviously, "Don't roll over" related to the Oak, as well as having a brain made of 'wood'.
And, of course Revenge (class) is a dish best served cold.
My next clue would have been, "How old are U? 47 is my age."
Well done (eventually :D)

U are truly a meisterbrau of misleeding clues.....suspect some of it izz simply cuzz u can't speak proper AAAHHHmarkin, son....not that English stuff! Used to run into that when working with my erstwhile CASE comrades from urr side of the "pond". One in particular was almost immmmpossible to make out over a N. Atlantic phone line. Face to face in same room....could mostly communicate then! Good buncha guys tho.............
Bandstand? Yea...thatzz summthing we have in our parks, wotz that got to do with a BB? Given the way my head feels-might as well be a hunk of wood-deception again! Of course 8-10 hours of solid, deep sleep and an appetite might HELP! Go see the doc soon; gotta admit the painz are mostly way down to 0....and after 2.8 years thatzz simply WONDERFUL....now if it lasts....yea, I want EVERYTHING!!! later thou sneeky one....DFO :D
