I'm very new to this forum and I joined because I wanted to find out more about the USS Delaware (BB-28).
My grantfather was a crew of USS Delaware from 1910 to 1916. We were able to get his records from the National Archives recently and we were so excited to read the information it contained. He passed away when my mother was only 9 years old and they did have any records regarding his life while in the Navy.
My mother is now 86 years old and just migrated from the Philippines 3 months ago. This is when she mentioned again about his father joining the US Navy in the Philippines. I remember her mentioning this when I was still a little boy.
I was really so excited to verify this and I checked with the Department of Defense. The DoD asked me to check with the National Archives and that's where I got the records of my grandfather.
If anymore there who knows or has other information or photos of crews of USS Delaware, please let me know.
