Service Record: William Richard Dodd

I have managed to get the service records of my Grandfather William Richard Dodd. He started his naval career on 15th May 1909 and completed his service on 22nd April 1931. The ships he served on were, HMS Cornwall, HMS Warrior, HMS Nerissa, HMS Forester, HMS Douglas, HMS Defiance, HMS Viceroy, HMS King George V, HMS Emperor of India, HMS Romola, HMS Taurus, HMS Volunteer and finally HMS Canterbury.
Unfortunately, he died at a very young age and I have no information whatsoever. I think I have a photograph of him, even this is not definate. Anyone who could help with either pictures of the ships or have found any information which may be of help to me, I should be eternally grateful

Hello Jill, I'm in the same situation as you. I'm also looking for information about my grandfather. I see that they both served on the same ship, HMS Romola, although at different eras. If you go into the thread which I started you will find a picture of the Romola. Good luck!

Jill, welcome to the forum. As Fred pointed out to you he has also just joined and already got some info.

I have attached photo's below of Hms Canterbury and Hms Douglas.

If you use the search facility above and type in the name of the ship..ie without the HMS you will find several photo's of some of the other ships you are looking for.
