My name is Richard (I'm a professional Librarian) and I have been a keen naval historian for many years. My areas of interest are The Imperial Japanese Navy during World War Two and the German Navy in World War Two - particularly the surface fleets of both these countries. I'm also interested in the great naval battles from Jutland through to Leyte Gulf. I have collected a huge library over many years but still have gaps which need filling!
I've already discovered some great material on this site and look forward to seeing more!

I note that you have not stated your location. Of course you don't have to. But it is often helpful to know where a member is.

I agree with you Richard that members should at least provide their location - which will then appear like ours and many other forum members do, on the top right hand corner of their posts.
Mind you as they have to do this - it would be little more trouble to put a few other comments about their particular interests/background in the profile section as well...
As many members will testify taking the 30 seconds or so it takes to do this can often pay great dividends.

Come on members both new and more established - please take the brief amount of time it takes to put a bit about yourself in the profile section - and as Richard rightly says at least provide your location - even just the Country you come from would do.
