Hello all,
I'm trying to identify the gentleman in the photo below. We believe it to be taken in 1936. The ship behind is the HMS Sussex. We do not know what Navy he belongs too. Hope someone may recognize him. Best regards Carmsmars
Hi Carmsmars. The uniform is that of a Chief Petty Officer identified by the cap badge and the buttons around the sleeve of the jacket. Not nitpicking! Jonti

It's hard to say which navy. The British and Australian dressed the same then.

Thanks Charles ! After seeing the post by Jonti about buttons on the jacket sleeves etc, I thought for a moment I may have demoted this guy. Incidentally Carmsmars my interest of all things Navy is mainly in the 1930’s, the guy in your photo has a distinctively long face, sounds strange but I’ll keep a look out for him. Regards.
