View Full Version : Vittorio Veneto & Littorio
Does anyone know the locations of the Vittorio Veneto and Littorio on 10 June 1940? I am pretty sure at least one of them was undergoing trials but where?
Cheers

Welcome to the forum GB.
Both units were conducting trials in the summer of 1940 but where?
Perhaps you can decipher something here......

Meanwhile, here's a pic of them conducting gunnery trials during the summer of that year.
Good luck

Vitorio Venetto and Littorio met the beginning of war in Taranto forming 9th Division of the 1st Squadron (the first from May 15th, second from May 24th).
Both ships were officially commisionned but were still undergoing small fitting and adjusting works.

thanks for the reply ,the drawing of roma is supper but i think wrong, most of the photos of rome do not show the stripes ending there, most are very hard to see but the stripes seem to go to the brakewater or all the way back to turrent 2. i am trying to find out which is correct,or maybe they where differant at differant times. heres pics both are differant. http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/3397/roma3mg6.jpg http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/633/stripesyi2.jpg
