I'm looking to sort out(and get replicas) all of my father's badges, ribbons etc - hopefully to arrange mounting with his medals and emblems.
Starting with the premise that I know nothing - can someone please tell me (preferably with pictures) what cap, lapel and arm insignia would have been worn by a Chief Petty Officer (Coxswain) in 1949? The only 'fuzzy' photo I have is not very helpful since for example it seems to show him wearing a CPO Cap Badge with the Queens Crown instead of the Kings Crown - however that may be my misinterpretation of a poor image.
