new to the site, found it very interesting. looking for anyone who served on hms striker 1961, 1962. i am talking about the landing craft LST.

Sorry Mick - only just noticed this post - somehow it slipped under my radar! Anyway welcome to the forum. Here is a good picture of HMS Striker or LST 3516 as she was also known.
Built in Canada in 1944 and launched on the 15th Feb 1945 she missed any action. The period you were referring to saw her as part of the Amphibious Warfare Squadron East of Suez.
She was scrapped in early 1971.

thanks for the photo , i think i can just about see myself on the bofor deck, as that was my action staion, mind you i had never seen one till i jioned the dreaded ship. thats if i am aloud to call it a war going ship . still i have some great memories of the 15 months i spent on her.for the first 3 months i slept on a strecther , which i had to hde every morning or else somone else would have slept on it .anyway thanks for your reply . mick.
