The Falklands 25th rememberance service and march past of the veterans began at Gosport with a service at the Falklands Gardens in Gosport. Attended by Veterans, families of those who were lost in the conflict, local and military dignitaries and Lady Thatcher, it was a very moving day.
Following the service, the dignitaries moved onto the saluting dias outside the town hall in preparation for the march past of veterans accompanied by the Royal Marines band.
Most impressed by the fact that, although rather frail, Lady Thatcher spent at least 20 minutes after the march past talking to members of the public.
Overall, a very moving day,
regards,
Bob

Thanks for sharing these photos.
By the way, what is the word attach doing in all your posts?

Hi Herecles,
Thankyou for your feed back. Tried to get rid of 'Attach' but failed miserably. (Think it's an age thing),
regards,
Bob
PS. Just putting another post about 'Room 40'. Searched the site and couldn't find any other reference to it.

Found these rather poor quality but historic photo's of HMS Invincible and Hermes leaving for the Falkland's war. Unfortunately, I didn't possess a camera with a zoom lense in those days and my photographic skills left a lot to be desired,

Bob

Hello Bob,
Have you a name address ( e-mail would suffice) for whoever organised this event please?
I serve on a committee which are in the process of organising a Falklands Requiem in December and it's a great plus if one knows and can liase with someone who has organised such an event as depicted in your photos and who might be able to supply details of important participants.
Hope you can assist. Thanks.
Yours Aye,
Chalky White

Hi Chalky,
Sorry about the delay in replying but I have been very busy at work and only just noticed your enquiry. Looked up the E Mail address of the organisers for you. For this event, they worked in conjunction with Gosport Borough Council. The E Mail address is:
