The former coastal steamer GOVERNOR COBB was acquired by the US Coastguard and commissioned on July 20, 1943. Built in 1906 by the Delaware River Company in Chester PA and scrapped in 1947. Length 300.8, beam 55', draft 19', displ 3,500 tons, speed 15.7 kts, compl 9 officers, 114 enlisted, turbine engines triple screws and 5,000 shp. armament at the time 2 5'/38, 6 20mm, dc racks, 4 Y-guns, 2 mousetraps.
